Following the recent member survey regarding the extension of the British Eventing season, we are happy to announce two additional fixtures; Aston Le Walls (5) on Friday 26th and Saturday 27th October and Horseheath (3) on Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th October 2018.

With eighty percent of the respondents wanting to see an extension to the BE season, the BE Fixtures Team sent out a request for an expression of interest to all BE event organisers who could potentially run an event in week 35 of the calendar.

Four venues replied and were analysed using the fixtures mapping data to ensure that they would not impact on the viability of each other and on the events already running in the preceding weeks; of the venues two were located in the Central West and two in the East region. One of the East venues was located within 35 miles of a fixture already running the week before and therefore would not be viable and the two venues in the Central West that came forward were within 40 miles of each other, which made it also not viable to run at both locations on the same weekend.

Based on the above considerations along with factors such as weather and ground suitability in late October, both Aston Le Walls (5) and Horseheath (3) have been added to the BE calendar in week 35.

Each event will run classes from BE80(T) to BE100 with the addition of Novice at Aston Le Walls (5) and a BE105 at Horseheath (3); from the survey the majority of respondents (55%) wanted to run at BE100 followed by BE90 at fifty-three percent and Novice at thirty-eight percent.

Schedules for each fixture will be posted on the BE website as soon as they are available along with details on when entries open.
