Qausar Verbeet apparently had pain in his radius which was tilted.   The vet was not 100% sure on an effective treatment.   We gave him a few Fine years, then decided to let him sleep.

Believe me my world really collapsed….I was angry at the people who had hurt him so much in his younger years at the stable owners who were responsible for his accident.

I really do not think I rode a horse for 2 years, but once you’re bitten by the bug it will stay itchy.   So I got to know my Julius through my husband, he was then 4 years old and just broken.   He came directly from the breeder who only wanted to sell him if she was very sure if he would get a good home.   I think I had to meet him 3 times and then one day she said bring your trailer!

He had not tried the horse himself yet, but my husband Tom had a good feeling about it, And he was right!    The click was very fast and now we are one very good team.

I trained to intermediary 1 and together we have won many competitions, Julius is really my buddy, my eyeball in everything.   I just have to think about an exercise and he just does it for me.

On November 9, 2014 I had my accident.   A young horse that I owned struck back from nowhere and fell right on me against the wall of the track.   The horse had me straight behind her and completely fragmented my hip bulb.

I regularly lost consciousness at that moment and cannot remember much of the accident

Just the pain.

On November 10th I was operated on as an emergency and it soon turned out that it was a complicated break.   Muscles and also nerves were damaged .   They have a part of bone fixed with an iron awl and I had to stay in bed for 3 months.

After the three months I was allowed to start my rehabilitation, it turned out quickly that my left side was not so good, the pain kept on coming and I struggled with my balance.   After a few checks, the doctors started operating again and it turned out that the iron prime was too big and too thick for my fine bone structure.   The iron awl was replaced by a slightly smaller and finer one, but after two or three weeks the pain appeared to get worse and now a more thorough investigation was done .   We found my bone was dying and had bone calcification.

Donor bone was placed together with an iron awl and after a few weeks of rehabilitation I felt completely reborn!

Sadly that feeling also turned out to be short-lived.

The donor bone turned out to live a life of its own and it actually started to grow wild, causing spikes and my nerves to suffer more damage.   Another surgery-  they completely removed the bone from the knee to above the hip and replaced it with a prosthesis.   In the meantime the feeling in my left foot became much less and I could barely exert force.

During the operation there were some complications that caused me to have been in intensive care for more than a week-Again, I can hardly remember anything- A good job too!

They have done additional research on my foot (Why it is that I barely feel it)

It turned out that during my fall also had a blow to my head and that they had only discovered 2 years after accident-Much too late.

So I have coordination disorder to the left, I walk around with a stool so that I do not always fall over.   Unfortunately a few weeks after the operation (At New Year’s Eve) I was taken back to the hospital with a high fever-Turns out I had contracted MRSA.

I am glad that I have such a sweet man who continues to support and help me

Also my horses

Julius who can be very hot takes a lot of me into account

Lignano, I got after my accident and only now 2 years later we are finally becoming a combination

Riding is not easy, far from it…

Sometimes I notice that the feeling in my leg becomes less and less, and also to my left hand, so it always remains a challenge to find alternative tools and to teach my horses some traits so that they continue to practice the exercises properly.

So I ride as a para Equestrian as a grade V since August 2016

We had our first international competitions at the end of November 2016.   Where I immediately had a 2nd place and two 1st places with Julius.   In 2017 Julius helped me further to beautiful international victories, which allowed me to ride as a reserve to the European Championships in Gothenburg.

Naturally, I hope that 2018 can become a successful good sporting year again
