British showjumper Tim Stockdale has been diagnosed with stomach cancer this week.   A statement was posted on social media today by the rider, he is to take a break from riding following his diagnosis and is due further investigations.

“We would like to announce that I will taking a short break from riding as I have been diagnosed with stomach cancer this week.

It’s important to focus on getting over this obstacle before we make plans for the future.

I would like to thank all of my owners and sponsors for their kind words and support during this difficult time”
