Mark Davies was an event rider who died as a result of an accident at the Burghley Horse Trials in 1988. His parents, Jane (and her late husband, Michael) decided to establish The Fund in his memory, to help injured riders.   The fund also campaigns on safety and raises awareness of issues affecting equestrians of all levels.   Recently known for their connection with International Event Rider Jonty Evans’s recovery after suffering a serious head injury aboard Cooley Rourkes Drift,  have had their van containing all the stock for Burghley Horse Trials stolen on route to the event.

“We are all completely devastated. Burghley is one of our bigger events and the van had all our stock, stand and personal items in. We now find ourselves in a critical situation and would appeal to everyone to keep an eye out for our van. The thieves have no idea the huge impact on their actions and the wider implications it will have on our small charity if it is not recovered in full.”

The white Chausson Flash09 camper van (similar to image) Registration WA57 FRD was taken between 9.30pm and 10.45pm from the Travel Lodge situated on the A38 Northbound.   The team will still be attending the prestigious event, but with limited stock and stand fittings.
