Mixed practice vets can optimise CPD, minimise time away from work and save money thanks to a new partnership between the BEVA and BSAVA annual Congresses.

Discounted attendance for the two leading annual events is available to members of both associations, giving access to high quality small animal and equine CPD, a full social programme and a host of other benefits.

BSAVA mixed practitioners will receive a 30% discount on standard tickets for BEVA Congress on 12th – 15thSeptember 2018, and BEVA members will receive the BSAVA membership discount for BSAVA Congress, on 4th -7th April 2019.

Both organisations are run by the profession for the profession and share aligned foundations, with volunteer vets and nurses designing the Congress programmes.

BEVA Congress 2018 will be held at the popular ICC in central Birmingham from 12-15 September 2018. It provides three days of highly pertinent and accessible science covering a vast spectrum of topics, together with an irresistible social calendar. The impressive programme includes many leading international veterinary speakers and covers most clinical aspects of veterinary science. There will be special sessions on reproduction, non-clinical aspects of being a vet, succession planning, a moral maze debate on specials manufacturing and role play demonstrations on how to manage difficult situations in practice.

Dr Juan Samper, Associate Dean for students and instruction at the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine will give the plenary lecture on the challenges and opportunities in equine practice. There will also be specific lecture streams for veterinary nurses, equine dental technicians and farriers.

BSAVA Congress 2019 will be the largest event in Europe dedicated to small animal vets, nurses and practice managers, with world-leading content and accessible CPD suitable for all levels and educational needs – from AVP and cutting edge, to building confidence and newly qualified streams, all members of the practice will benefit from attending Congress. This sits alongside a global exhibition in Arena Birmingham, with ground-breaking ideas and pioneering technology to help shape the future of veterinary science.

BSAVA will announce the programme in coming weeks, including a return for Beyond the Clinics as part of the association’s holistic vision of personal development and support for the profession throughout their careers, together with Movie Night and a new beach-themed Picnic on Sunday following extremely positive delegate feedback at their launch in 2018. The social programme is designed to meet all budgets, and give delegates and exhibitors a chance to unwind.

BSAVA Head of Congress, Angharad Belcher said: “This partnership is great news for members of both associations, particularly those working within busy mixed practices. As both Congresses continue to evolve, BSAVA and BEVA are working together to provide unrivalled opportunities for the whole profession to be inspired, demonstrating that we are one community whose impact on animal and human health is immense.”
